Marcie graduated in 1987 as an Occupational Therapist, gained qualifications in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy in 1991, and attained an MSc in Mental Health Studies from Kings College London in 1997. She undertook Life Coach training between 2000-2002, and has subsequently developed skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy through formal training and experiential learning.
She has worked as an OT and Psychological Therapist in a wide range of mental health settings including community mental health, psychotherapy services, forensic psychiatry, acute psychiatry, and enduring mental health; within the NHS and privately.
As a Health and Care Professions Council registered clinician she assesses individuals to identify their current psychological and mental health problems, and formulates a therapy plan accordingly. She is skilled at facilitating group and individual therapy, using an integrative approach combining CBT, psychodynamic psychotherapy, creative therapies, supportive counselling, and coaching. Her approach is guided by the needs of the person with whom he is working. Her extensive experience includes developing therapy packages for adults and adolescents whose self-esteem and everyday functioning have been affected by the experience of thought, mood, and developmental disorders, or cognitive impairment.
Since 2009 she has enjoyed combining much of her professional training, skills, and experience to work with some of the UK’s leading TV production companies ensuring the psychological wellbeing of participants in their programmes.
