Phillys route into acupuncture and massage/bodywork has been unconventional. Having studied History of Art and Italian at Edinburgh University, she became a professional free-ride and free-style skier, devoting every waking hour to her career and fueling her obsession with the mountains.
Life in the mountains and extreme sports brought their fair share of injuries, each which felt like a curse at the time, but proved to be blessings in disguise and changed the direction of her life. In 2003 she started a journey and began to learn about healing, both physically and emotionally in Vancouver where she studied Massage Therapy; including Shiatsu and Cranio Sacral Therapy and Yoga.
Over the past 14 years she has completed a degree in Chinese Medicine and qualified as a licensed Acupuncturist with the British Acupuncture Council, and learnt from natural healers and health experts while living in Canada, France and India.
Today she treats using a mix of acupuncture and bodywork, while introducing key concepts of mindfulness meditation as she views this as an essential healing tool that clients can take home and develop a daily practice. She helps patients struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, migraines, IBS, fertility issues and musculoskeletal injuries and pain. Philly views acupuncture and bodywork as one part of wider picture, and strives to guide her patients to life that’s free from pain and full of purpose.
